Now, new from Duke, Enduro Classics Volume 2 continues the story of the International Six Day Trial into the 1960s, with colour footage of the ‘Olympics of Motorcycling’ in 1960 and 1966. Plus, viewers see how the sport developed with a look at the final round of the 1981
European Two Day Enduro Championship. Selected from the BP Video Library, these archive films chart the story of each event, showing the often gruelling conditions the packed fields of competitors faced, and demonstrating the effort, stamina and skill required. They are also a wonderful opportunity to see – and hear – some classic dirt bikes in action, including machines from Moto Guzzi, Royal Enfield, Puch, AJS, MZ, Maico, Cagiva, KTM and even Lambretta! Austria International is the story of the 35th ISDT, based around Bad Aussee. Made by famed director David Wood for Castrol Films in 1960, it follows each day of the battle for both the International Trophy, and the Silver Vase. There’s plenty of extraordinary action, including the first year of special tests at the ISDT, plus controversy as the final result is thrown into doubt by an appeal.
